Hi there, I’m Beate.
Your GREEN Realtor®
Here is a bit about my background so you can get a better picture of me.
After working with architects and contractors as an energy and green building consultant for a few years, I decided to merge my love for client service, a diverse set of skills and experiences I accumulated over the years to serve my clients with their real estate transactions – I became a Realtor®. Now I help my clients prepare their home for sale and find the best home for their particular needs. I connect my clients to other resources to fill their financing-, insurance-, renovation-, and other service needs as they come up over time.
Besides navigating my clients through their real estate transaction and tirelessly promoting their best interests, I am particularly interested in providing added value by:
- educating my clients about green building features and how those can support healthy and comfortable homes.
- guiding home buyers and sellers through major financial and lifestyle transitions and educate them on how these different life stages impact their real estate choices.
- providing information and resources about ADU’s. ADU’s are accessory dwelling units, also known as granny flats or in-law suites, which are dwellings that are either attached or detached from the main house and exist on the same lot. ADU’s can have many different uses for all age groups, e.g to rent, provide housing for family members or caregivers and much more.
How did it all start for me here in the United States?
Born, raised and educated in Germany, I came to the United States for a job opportunity in 1998. For more than a decade I implemented software systems to incorporate key business functions for Global Fortune 500 clients. I became a trusted resource to my clients, always having their best interest in mind, understanding the complexities of each individual project and navigating it to the benefit of my clients.
Then I build upon my love for client service and creativity and opened my own businesses, a fine art gallery and a store for handcrafted products. Eventually, a renovation project that I managed at my Ranch House on the Palos Verdes Peninsula introduced me to architecture and the real estate industry. For our renovation, we used green and energy-efficient design & products, such as Hempcrete and the Passive House Standard and converted a rather uncomfortable 1948 built house into an energy-efficient comfortable home.
Our Ranch home is located in Rolling Hills, which I share with my husband and our two pugs. All of us enjoy our fruit trees and vegetable garden on our 2-acre property. Our pugs master the art of picking their own tomatoes, blackberries and everything yummy they can reach.
In my spare time, I like to see the world through my camera lens, be challenged by contemporary art and learn something new every day.
